![]() ![]() I have a couple of videos if you're interested, here was my most recent fight using a STR build (I made some sloppy mistakes and ended up needing 6 flasks, I was rusty lol): But when I did beat him the first time, I only used 4 estus in the whole fight. It took me a while to understand that because I foolishy tried the "Sif" method (stay under its legs etc) for far too long to no success. I love Midir, it's my favourite boss in the whole franchise, fought him many times and I think I've really got a good grasp of its pattern. Sometimes, when you are close to the head, you "lose" the lock-on (might be a glitch), it's annoying but if you are good at manipulating the camera quickly it shouldn't be an issue. Attack the head, then immediately retreat. Important: do not do more attacks than that (again, 1-2 for big slow weapons, 2-3 for faster weapons), Midir will recover and severely punish you. The best part though is that you'll notice that after almost every tantrum series of attacks, he kindly lowers his head (presumably even the mighty beast can tire sometimes), giving you an opening for 2-3hits (if you have a very slow weapon it might just be 1-2 hits) for decent damage. But if you always stay in front of him, you can watch all of his tells and dodge accordingly, they are fairly well telegraphed and don't require fast reaction times for the most part. ![]() this is a BAD idea against Midir and will never work, you can't see shit, you'll do pitiful damage, and you'll get hit by. Some of the previous fights might have "trained" you to stay close to the giant beast and hit its legs. To fight Midir, always stay in front of him. You can also use the 3rd dragon ring to boost your HP. Click to shrink. What's your vigor? Almost nothing is OHKO at around 30 vigor (Embered) IIRC and nothing is OHKO at all at 40 vigor. ![]()
